Origami Gallery II

Valentine Valentine
This wonderful model was created by Peter Engel, one of the more sophisticated model of his that does not test the limits of my paper. Folded in 40 minutes using 15 cm origami paper. My nth attempt at this memorable model.

Stegosaurus Stegosaurus
This is the Stegosaurus, yet another dinosaur by John Montroll. This unique dinosaur has 2 pea-sized brains. One in the head and the other at the base of its tail. Funny though, it looked pretty smart in "The Lost World(Tm)". :) Anyway, this was folded from an A4 photostating paper in 2 and a 1/2 hours. 1st attempt. :)

Bassist Bassist
Folded on the 30th October 1997

This is a Bassist, probably a Cello player, I don't really know. Created by Robert J. Lang, it is incredible to think that one single piece of paper can be manipulated into such a beauty. Folded from 20 cm origami paper in 1 hour 45 minutes. My 3rd try, failed the first time, 2nd was too small. (15 cm origami paper)

Pegasus Pegasus
Folded on the 29th October 1997

This is a magnificent model by Fumiaki Kawahata, and one of my guardians as well. This model can be viewed from all angels, even from the front! With a particularly frustrating start of dividing a square into 5 equal portions, this model is worth any effort. Folded from 25 cm photostating A3 paper in 2 and 1/2 hours. It really took me quite a while before I figured out that 25 could be divided by 5. :) And this happened during my 5th attempt. None except the 5th was presentable. Thanks to Sebastian!

Strumming Guitarist Strumming Guitarist
Folded on the 29th October 1997

This guitarist was created by (once again) Robert J. Lang. He also has a few other musicians such as the violinist and the pianist. Folded from 20 cm origami paper in 1 and 1/2 hours. 2nd attempt at this model. Both were successful.

Canoing Indian Canoing Indian
Folded on the 29th October 1997

Row, row, I row my boat,
Gently down the stream!
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
To origami-land.

Ahem. :) Well, as you might be able to guess, this is little indian is created by Robert J. Lang too. Cute and neat, now if only the paddle had a color change. Folded from 15 cm origami paper in 2 hours. My 2nd successful attempt.

Pteranodon Pteranodon
Folded on the 8th November 1997

I had to "memorized" nearly all 90+ steps by folding it once. Well, my friends and I were at this bookstore, when we saw this book that cost $30, but this was the only model the book is worth, so I thought it would be more economical to learn it there. Unfortunately, I forgot to take down the name of this dinosaur and *thought* its a Pterodactyl. Actually, it is a Pteranodon. Created by Fumiaki Kawahata, and folded from A4 paper in 2 hours. My 2nd attempt. Oh yes, if you look carefully, the red background is actually a piece of well made foil-backed mulberry paper. Thanks to Sebastian Kirsch for it!
