The Last Waltz The Last Waltz
Folded on the 10th November 1997

This is the first model that broke my "all squares" rule. Folded from a 23:8 rectangle. I had used A4 paper and printed grey color on one side of it. An absolutely beautiful model. Created by Neal Elias in 1968 before I was even born, it's my honour to be able to fold it. Thanks to Amy Huang for giving me the chance!

Red Hot Devil Red Hot Devil
Folded on the 15th November 1997

The title for this model read "Evil Spirit" in the book in Chinese or Japanese. But since it didn't have an English name, I decided that "Red Hot Devil" would be nice, it has that triangular tail which resembles the devil that appears in our local Kentucky Fried Chicken TV advertisments. It was created by Jun Maekawa and I folded it from A4 square in 2 hours.

Minotaur Minotaur
Folded on the 15th November 1997

This is another devil without an English name, it was titled "Ghost" in the book. Well, again, I will take the lead and name it a Minotaur because of its resemblance. It was created by Jun Maekawa and more often known as a primitive version of the "Red Hot Devil". Folded from A4 square in 2 hours.

Tyrannosaurus Tyrannosaurus
Folded on the 16th November 1997

Hold on to your hats, ladies and gentlemen! If you thought the Pegasus was magnificent, this creature is AWESOME! Though the t-rex in this picture isn't folded as well as I wanted to, it nevertheless shows ferociousness, especially with its 8 teeth! I have added nails to its toes and they don't look too bad either. :) This was folded from an A3 square in 2 hours because I could only fold 4 teeth with an A4. Also, no tweezers were used. This is my 5th attempt. The model requires extremely high precision folding during the precreasing. Oh yes, created by Fumiaki Kawahata! I will most probably be attempting this model again using an A4. Till then, this is all you get to see! :)

22nd July 1998 update.

I have folded many more of this big lizard, one of which is made from A4, I call it Baby T-rex... the one above is Mother T-rex.. and there's one Giant T-rex.. how big is it you say? 34" paper my friend, yes.. that's right. :)

Ankylosaurus Ankylosaurus
Folded on the 21th March 1998

This is one hell of a monster, there are 30 odd plates on its back and it took a whole 10 hours over a 3 days to complete. I guess that's the only attractive part of this model, its back. :) Again, created by Fumiaki Kawahata. Folded using a A3 paper, this was my second attempt, the first one ended up with "cracked" plates on its back.. hehe..

Dimetrodon Dimetrodon
Folded on the 8th April 1998

Okay, this is the day I got my driving licence as well as the day I tried this creature for the 2nd time. It took me a little less than 3 hours to complete. (Since I was in such a good mood...) The amazing part of this model is that it has a curved plate on its back. Just think, how is that possible without cutting? Well, the ingenius Fumiaki Kawahata does it once again! ;) This was folded from an A4 paper.

Tiger Tiger
Folded on the 12th May 1998

This is yet another model that has this zest of "life" in it. Properly folded, it makes a wonderful ornament anywhere in the house. It has whiskers, teeth and on the prowl no less. Created by the late Issei Yoshino, I spent 2 hours folding and 1 hour moulding it. This was folded from A3 paper.
